Random Building Stone – Blue/Grey Limestone

Our Blue/Grey Limestone is a classic British building stone, used as a durable and beautiful material for house building and stone walling through the centuries. The blueness of the limestone is brought out by contrasting cream coloured seams.

We source our Blue/Grey Limestone from another British quarry, and finish it ourselves to the high standards you expect when buying random cropped walling stone from Black Mountain Quarries.

It’s relatively uniform for a rubble stone, making it a popular choice for faster and easier construction. It’s ideal for house building, retaining walls, garden and boundary walls. We have complementary products to match for coping stones and steps, where the blue/grey limestone works really well as risers.

One bulk bag of random building stone cropped to the standard 150mm (6 inch) bed width will provide enough material for 3 to 3.5 square metres of facing stone. A wastage allowance of 10% should always be calculated into your figures when ordering.

We’ve provided a few tips on how to build a stone wall, and if you need any advice, give us a call.
