About Stone Cladding Slips

15-30mm thickness

Natural stone cladding slips from Black Mountain Quarries, 100% solid stone wall cladding at only 15-30mm thick, ideal for all building and walling applications.

We produce our natural split face cladding slips by cutting a slim face from full-sized pieces of traditional facing stone, to create individual cladding pieces of approx. 15-30mm thickness. These retain the natural stone face in the chosen build style - rubble, random, semi-coursed or coursed - but with a fraction of the bulk. Our cladding slips give the appearance of an authentic, traditional stone wall without the complexity. L-shaped cladding corners are available to match in all stone colours.

Frequently asked questions

  • How are stone slips installed?

The installation process entails applying adhesive or mortar to the stone slips’ back and affixing them to your chosen surface. To ensure a strong and long-lasting installation, it’s crucial to adhere to the manufacturer’s installation guidelines. Our cladding slips installation is similar to tiling, where each piece is applied individually, and spacers are used for precise grouting. Achieving a traditional stone finish has never been easier.

  • Will the cladding slips have a sawn back?

Yes, we take the full thickness building stone and place these pieces into our slip machine where the blades then cuts the face off to 15-30mm thickness. The individual piece has then taken the character and shape of the natural split face and has a flat sawn back.

  • Can stone slips be used both indoors and outdoors?

Yes, stone slips are versatile and can be used for both interior and exterior applications. Whether you want to enhance the look of a living room wall, create a striking feature in a commercial space, or add an eye-catching element to an exterior facade, stone slips can provide a natural and timeless aesthetic. They are designed to withstand outdoor conditions, making them suitable for a wide range of projects.

  • How will my cladding slips arrive?

All cladding slips are placed onto our standard pallets which are 1m x 1.2m, they get manually laid individually onto the pallet and then are stacked up to get a maximum of 20m² onto a full pallet space.
