Perfect for creating that rustic flagstone feel internally or externally. From sage greens to warm amber hews this stone will compliment a whole range of kitchen colours.
Country of origin: India
The Farmhouse Green is brushed and tumbled giving the surface and edge of the slab a very naturally aged feel. Once laid it will feel like the floor has been there for years.
Suitable for both outdoors and indoors, this limestone is suitable for underfloor heating systems. They come in project packs for 5 different sizes and are calibrated to 22mm +/- 1mm.
With a variable product like this Indian limestone the best effect is achieved by really mixing up the variation in colour and texture before laying, if you have a couple of crates be sure to open them all and “shuffle” the slabs before you start laying.
What sizes are available?
Each crate of Farmhouse Green limestone flagstones covers 19 square metres with a mix of 62 pieces in 5 sizes:
- 280mm x 560mm – 17 pieces
- 420mm x 560mm – 11 pieces
- 560mm x 560mm – 14 pieces
- 700mm x 560mm – 9 pieces
- 840mm x 560mm – 11 pieces
Please note that you do not have to order multiples of 19m2, we will split packs.
Its advisable to allow an additional 10% on top of the area required for breakages, cutting etc.
Different uses for flagstones in the house and garden
Farmhouse Green Brushed limestone flagstones are suitable for both interior and exterior flooring. Indoors, these flagstones work really well with underfloor heating, spreading and retaining the warmth throughout the stones. Outdoors, they are perfect for courtyard gardens, patios, pathways and seating areas.
Laying the flagstones
Outdoors, these flagstones can be laid on a sand and cement bed. Ensure the screed bed is level, and if needed use a sub-base. Spot bedding is not recommended as its makes the flagstones unstable and susceptible to fracturing.
Joint widths are a personal decision, but a 12mm gap is standard. We recommend Jointex Easy as a fixing mortar. It’s ready mixed, easy to use, doesn’t stain the flagstones and creates a very neat professional finish. It is permanently water permeable, resistant to high pressure cleaners and helps prevents weeds. Just empty the tub onto wet flagstones and work it into the joints, making sure they are firm and compact; then wait for it to dry.
Internally the sand effect of Jointex can be smoothed over for the effect of mortar.
Looking after the flagstones
Personally we don’t seal flagstones for outdoor use, because we think they improve with weathering. However you can seal them if you prefer.
Indoors we would definitely recommend sealing flagstones, to protect them from grease marks and household staining. It is essential to use a sealant specially made for natural stone, and we sell a range of high quality sealants for you to choose from. Some of the flagstones are more porous than others so the number of coats required will differ from one type of flagstone to another. We recommend LTP Mattstone for sealing internally.
An important note about natural stone
Whilst we have done our utmost to ensure the stone and colours displayed on our website are accurate, they are to be used as a guide only. Because stone is a natural product, texture and colour will vary from piece to piece. As we work through the quarry, seams will yield slightly different coloured and shaped stones.
The way in which flagstones are laid, and the amount, colour and type of grout used will all impact the look of the finished design. Please bear this in mind when ordering stone samples and products.
