Coping Stones: Grey Tumbled
The predominant shade of our Grey Tumbled Coping Stones is dove grey, with subtle natural variations of blue-green and golden beige. These tonal differences provide a depth of colour and authenticity only achievable with solid real stone.
Our Grey Tumbled coping stones are a good match for our Grey Sandstone Flagstones.
Coping stones are a traditional feature, and add a quality finish to exterior walls around the patio, driveway entrance, raised beds or retaining walls in the wider garden. Hand-dressed coping stones are a sign of good craftsmanship. In contemporary gardens the tumbled edges create an attractive visual balance, acting as a foil to rigorously straight lines.
As well as aesthetics, coping stones shield the wall below from excess rainwater, helping to mitigate the effects of exposure. When edging raised beds / retaining walls, they help to keep the planting tidy and the soil from spilling over.
Our grey coping stones are calibrated to 40mm thick +/- 1mm, ensuring a quicker and simpler laying time than copings with variable thicknesses. If you require a thicker and more consistent depth for exterior paving, our coping stones can also be used for flagstones.
An important note about natural stone
Whilst we have done our utmost to ensure the stone and colours displayed on our website are accurate, they are to be used as a guide only. Because stone is a natural product, texture and colour will vary from piece to piece. As we work through the quarry, seams will yield slightly different coloured and shaped stones.
The building technique, quantity, colour and type of mortar used will all impact on the the look of the finished product. Please bear this in mind when ordering stone products. For larger projects or any projects where a specific look is required, we recommend that test panels are built.
